STP in Boston... Hmmm.
"In light of the recent lip-sync accusations, I would have to say that there was no kind of vocal backing track. Most of the time his vocals were strong and he sounded pretty good. The newer stuff is fantastic in my opinion, but lacked the enthusiasm with which the older stuff was played unfortunately. Scott needs to sober up. He is a fantastic performer, but lately seems to lack the intensity he used to have on stage. The instrumentalists were great and spot on most of the time, but suffered from an occasional muddy mix, particularly in the new songs. I've said before that I wish they wouldn't lean so heavily on the CORE, but now I know why. It's because Scott can remember all of the words and essentially go on autopilot (no pun intended). Overall, I did enjoy the show, but because I love this band so much, I have to point out the things that I would like to see different. Still Remains was a welcome surprise. At times they were brilliant and at times they were sloppy. Some wrong lyrics, singing in the wrong part, and leaving the stage for five minutes to "change his pants". And as always, I'd like to hear more of the new stuff. The new tracks stand up to anything the band has done before. I just wish the band would stand up for the new tracks. I would have much rather heard a scorching "Huckleberry Crumble" (as opposed to the adequate one we got) instead of "Dead And Bloated" for the hundreth time. Now onto Scott. The aforementioned sloppiness was mostly due to Scott's obvious intoxication. No dude, it wasn't. He was hammered. The guy who told me that's Scott's onstage behavior was "tongue in cheek"..."
